The GBI is still handling the attack as an officer-involved in king von murder case after the Atlanta police in the area sought to assist in the shooting. Two of the officers were in uniform doing out-of-duty security positions in the hookah club, and a third was on duty nearby, police said.
Steadily for the past Saturday, Atlanta police said that 22-year-old Timothy Leeks has been charged with Bennett’s murder, but it is still unsure who killed Blakely. Leeks was also shot after the weapons exchange, police said.
King Von was associated with O Block, a Chicago Black Disciples street gang group, the police say. Chicago gangs have been participating in Atlanta for many years.
The shooting of Rapper King Von has brought to light what the authorities say is the ongoing participation of Chicago street gangs in crime in Atlanta. King Von, 26, and Mark Blakely, 34, both from Chicago, were fatally shot and four men were injured during a shootout on Nov. 6 in a parking lot outside the Atlanta nightclub. They belonged to the Black Disciples group called O Stone, the police say.

Two other men, 21-year-old Johnny Harris and 23-year-old Kevin Jones have also been identified with their suspected involvement in the shooting, said Atlanta police commander Sergeant. John Chafee. Authorities have named the surviving victims of the shooting as 28-year-old Bryant Humphrey, 27-year-old Francois Jameson and 19-year-old Saada Mchardy.
